In 1955 when the late Eric Jacobson and his wife Jean purchased their first school
bus they would not have imagined that by the year 2007 the business would grow to include a fleet of 100 vehicles.
During its growth the name Jacobsons has become synonymous with Mooroopna
along with the familiar sight of the white and blue buses around the town streets and rural roads.
Eric and Jean first began in the transport industry operating a taxi business from Jacobsons Electrical Store in McLennan St and from there moved into the depot in the same street.
With the business continuing to grow in 1987 they moved from McLennan Street to their current depot in Huggard Dve.
During the years Jacobsons Coach Tours' business has been evolving and growing alongside its town. Throughout the years more buses were added to the fleet and eventually an extension of hire drive charter buses, and extended accommodated tours.
With each growth the business has made it has been driven by the needs of the people of Mooroopna and the Goulburn Valley.
In 2006 an additional depot was opened in Kyabram.
Today the business is operated by Jacobson family members Jean, Peter and Jodi. They run a comprehensive service including school buses, hire drive buses, charter
day trips, educational and accommodated tours, concerts and day tours.
The family also operates a transport division specialising in newspaper distribution, freight and water cartage.
The family contributes the success of the business to listening to the needs and wants
of their customers, delivering custom satisfaction, maintaining a modern and comprehensive fleet of vehicles, with professional staff and also the continued support
of valued customers.
